Abstract
The category of cases in German and Karakalpak languages has been widely studied in both languages. But their similarities and differences are still not well understood. In this article, in a typological aspect, the study of case categories is compared separately for two unrelated languages. In German, there are no some cases, unlike the Karakalpak language (original, local), and their meaning in German is expressed with the help of prepositions.
The article defines the expression of the original case of the Karakalpak language in German. Their similarities and peculiar differences in the use of sentences are analyzed. The expression of words in the original case from the syntactic side as an adverb of place, cause and mode of action, object and predicate is considered, using this case meaning of German prepositions (von, aus, zu) in a sentence as phrases and using them without a preposition. The original case of the Karakalpak language is polysemantic and therefore it is proved that it can be different in its translation into German. Grammatical means expressing the original case are shown by comparing examples from the German and Karakalpak languages.
