Abstract
The article examines the specific features of the term as an object of linguistic analysis. The social meanings of the term as a multi-meaning concept are analyzed. The meanings of terms, terms and terms are explained. Also, the role of the term in the formation of scientific knowledge and the development of the scientific style of speech is emphasized.
